Ask these questions to yourself and see, to how many questions you can give yourself a positive answer,
Do you shout at your children, spouse, co-workers or employees? Do you get angry with them? Are you happy with this situation? Do you let your work, the weather, other people behavior and attitude, the movies or the newspapers influence the way you feel and think. Do outside events distract your mind and make you think about them, instead of what you choose to think about?
This is loss of inner balance and lack of inner peace. Lack of inner balance causes fluctuations of the emotions, lack of decisiveness and wasting time on unnecessary thoughts, emotions and actions. So what is the remedy?
The first 30-45 minutes after waking up in the morning are vital to shape up your whole day. They influence your mood and you have to use them in the right way.
Throughout the day, try to maintain slow and steady reactions to things. It doesn't mean you have to be indifferent about everything, but instead don't react to things quickly, hold it back and try to calm yourself down, you can take a few deep breathes, count upto 10 and then react. It helps to calm you down, to react better and will give a better outcome to the situation. On the other hand, if people are complaining about you, if they tell you things that you wouldn't want to hear, Don't react immediately, instead hold back your anger and instead of getting insulted, try to approach it with a broader perspective. If the other person's words are really important and if they really matter to you, maybe you should think wisely and heed to his advise or opinion, instead of retorting in anger.
From time immemorial, we always have been hearing that life is full of ups and downs and we always have to move on. However, very few people take this into consideration and behave accordingly. Neither you should lament upon your past mistakes nor should you worry too much about the future. No matter what happens there will always be a way out. Seeking help from others in such situations is advised and you shouldn't think too much about your wrongdoing or mistake, as it has already happened and also mistakes are committed by human beings. Ultimately, after every fall, you will definitely rise up.
Developing inner strength and the ability to make the mind quiet, through concentration exercises, meditation, detachment, visualization or affirmations, will take you a long way toward attaining and maintaining inner balance and peace
